Handmade is Better

I firmly believe that handmade is better, especially when it comes to leather goods. Using higher quality materials and crafting 100% by hand results in products that are going to outlast anything mass-produced.

Everything I make is done completely by hand. I design, cut, glue, punch, stitch, sand, and finish every piece without any machinery. It takes a lot of time! But I think that is what makes leather working so much fun. I get to spend time focused on the details of each piece and I truly fall in love with everything that I make. Sometimes it's hard to say goodbye!

Now, this is not my way of saying that using a sewing machine or a press to cut out material produces a lower-quality product. That is by no means the case! Other crafters out there use these machines and produce incredible leather goods. And there are definitely times that I wish I had a sewing machine! But there's just something about a piece that is crafted fully by hand. No sewing machine will ever be able to replicate the beauty of a hand stitch.

Maybe someday I will venture into the world of machines and clicker presses, but for now, I am going to take my time, focus on the details, and enjoy the process.
